Mustard Pickled Eggs
Mustard Pickled Eggs
Ingredients:
1 dozen hard-boiled eggs 1 cup white vinegar 1 cup water
1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup yellow mustard seeds 1/4 cup celery seeds 1 tablespoon salt 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Instructions:
Prepare the Brine: In a medium saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, granulated sugar, yellow mustard seeds, celery seeds, salt, and turmeric powder. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and salt.
Cool the Brine: Once the brine has come to a boil, remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Prepare the Eggs: Peel the hard-boiled eggs and place them in a clean, sterilized jar or container with a lid.
Add Brine to Eggs: Pour the cooled brine over the eggs, making sure they are completely submerged. If necessary, you can use a small plate or a lid to keep the eggs submerged.
Refrigerate: Seal the jar or container with a lid and refrigerate for at least 5 days to allow the flavors to develop. The pickled eggs will continue to improve in flavor as they sit.
Serve: Enjoy the mustard pickled eggs as a tangy snack, appetizer, or as part of a charcuterie board!😋❤
