Thai Basil Beef Ro

Ingredients :
– 1 lb lean beef sirloin, thinly sliced
– 1/2 cup rice paper wrappers
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
– 1 tablespoon honey
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
– 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
– 1/4 cup chopped green onions
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
– Optional: a sprinkle of sesame seeds for garnish

Directions :

1. Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Marinate the beef slices in the mixture for at least 15 minutes (or up to 30 minutes for deeper flavor).
2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
3. To prepare the dipping sauce, combine remaining marinade with chopped basil, cilantro, red bell pepper, and green onions in a small bowl.
4. Fill a large shallow dish with warm water. Soak each rice paper wrapper briefly in the water, one at a time, until softened and pliable, about 15-20 seconds.
5. Carefully lay the softened rice paper wrapper on a flat surface. Place 2-3 cooked beef slices on one half of the wrapper.
6. Top with a spoonful of the dipping sauce.
7. Gently fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll it tightly from the bottom up.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 with remaining wrappers and ingredients.
9. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
