Pizza Enchiladas recipe based on your teaser! This fun mashup combines the bold flavors of enchiladas with cheesy, savory pizza ingredients. Great for family nights or party snacks.
Ingredients
For the Filling:
1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
1 cup diced yellow onion
1 cup mini pepperoni or chopped regular pepperoni
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Sauce:
2 cups pizza sauce or marinara
1/2 cup enchilada sauce (mild or medium for flavor kick)
Other:
8 medium flour tortillas
Extra shredded mozzarella & Parmesan for topping
Chopped basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion until soft (about 3–4 mins). Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in pepperoni, garlic powder, oregano, red pepper, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and mix in cheeses.
3. Assemble Enchiladas:
Mix the pizza sauce and enchilada sauce together in a bowl. Spread 1/2 cup of the sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Fill each tortilla with the beef mixture, roll up, and place seam-side down in the dish.
4. Top and Bake:
Pour remaining sauce over the enchiladas. Sprinkle generously with mozzarella and Parmesan. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. Garnish and Serve:
Top with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot with a side salad or garlic bread!
