Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients:
1 medium onion, finely chopped slices bacon, cooked and crumbled 8 – lb ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (10.5 oz) 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 can of cheddar cheese soup
1 cup sour cream 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Fresh parsley, for garnish Salt and pepper to taste tsp mustard (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.
Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the beef, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onions are soft.
Prepare the Casserole Filling:
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, mustard (if using), cheddar cheese soup, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Fold in the crumbled bacon and mix everything until fully combined.
Assemble the Casserole:
Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly in the prepared casserole dish.
Arrange the frozen tater tots on top of the beef mixture in an even layer. You may need to slightly overlap them depending on the size of the casserole dish.
Bake the Casserole:
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy on top.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve and Enjoy:
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color and flavor. Serve with your favorite ketchup, mustard, or pickles on the side for extra cheeseburger flair!
