Chocolate Overload Layer Cake

Ingredients :
Chocolate cake layers:
250g all-purpose flour
350g granulated sugar
75g cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
240ml buttermilk
120ml vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
240ml hot coffee
Vanilla custard cream:
500ml whole milk
100g sugar
4 egg yolks
40g cornstarch
2 tsp vanilla extract
200ml heavy cream, whipped
Chocolate ganache:
400g dark chocolate
400ml heavy cream
Topping ganache:
200g dark chocolate
150ml heavy cream
Decoration:
Chocolate kisses
Chocolate chips
Chocolate bar pieces
Chocolate shavings
Preparation :
1. Preheat oven to 180C. Grease three 20cm cake pans.
2. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, vanilla. Mix well.
4. Stir in hot coffee. Batter will be thin.
5. Divide into pans. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool.
6. Heat milk for custard. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch.
7. Temper yolks with hot milk. Cook until thickened.
8. Add vanilla. Cool. Fold in whipped cream.
9. Heat cream for main ganache. Pour over chocolate. Stir smooth.
10. Place one cake layer. Spread custard cream.
11. Drizzle ganache. Repeat layers.
12. Cover cake with remaining ganache.
13. Heat cream for topping ganache. Pour over chocolate. Cool slightly.
14. Pour over cake for drip effect.
15. Decorate with chocolate kisses, chips, bar pieces, and shavings.
